Full-Time Faculty of Contemporary Dance Technique/Choreography
California Institute of the Arts – The Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance is seeking candidates for a contemporary dance choreography and technique full-time faculty position.
INFORMATION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include teaching choreography, contemporary dance technique, and one or more of the following: improvisation, somatic technique/s, dance repertory, and dance technology. Duties also include student mentoring, choreographing on students, coaching student creative work for dance concerts, graduate student thesis advising, and Institute and Departmental service. This leadership position must also be actively engage in the creation and production of experimental work, modeling and facilitating artistic creativity.

Schools of Dance, Music, Visual Art, Theater, Film/Video and Critical Studies interact in a lively, interdisciplinary atmosphere. The School of Dance with a combined BFA/MFA enrollment of approximately 85, encourages all students to take full advantage of the diverse creative environment of CalArts, where the educational experience goes beyond formal curricular boundaries. Cross-disciplinary collaborations are an integral part of the activities at the School, and students work with a variety of art forms and media, including interactive and digital technologies. The School of Dance is affiliated with REDCAT, CalArts’ downtown LA performance venue for experimental work in all the artistic disciplines.
