The Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies at Tufts University is seeking a full-time lecturer to grow the directing curriculum in our undergraduate liberal-arts based program. The successful candidate for this position will teach Directing I and II, direct annually as part of our department’s season, mentor undergraduate student directors, and teach additional courses in their area(s) of expertise such as directing, dramaturgy, and new play development, in consultation with the department. Candidates should have achieved an MFA or significant professional experience. The successful candidate will also demonstrate experience working with college-level students.
Qualifications
Preferences for the position include demonstrated professional experience working with new plays and musicals, the ability to collaborate with playwrights and other theatre artists in support of shaping new work, and an interest in creating a department infrastructure for developing and supporting student playwrights, dramaturgs, and directors.
