The College of Visual Arts and Design has the 10th largest enrollment of any art and design school accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, and the second largest of any that awards doctorates.
The Studio Art Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Visual Arts Technician to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Management of the Printmaking concentration facilities for student and faculty use by: * Maintaining a safe student work environment. * Maintaining equipment and web checkout system. * Purchasing supplies. * Disseminating information. * Keeping lab records and files. * General office duties. * Other duties as assigned. * Setting safety standards, supervising hourly workers.
Associate’s Degree and two years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Skill in utilization and maintenance of equipment or machinery related to area of assignment.
Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to plan and prioritize work for self and others.
Knowledge of safety and security practices related to area of assignment.
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: * An MFA in a Studio Art; preferably lens based, or and 2-years minimum college teaching experience at the level of TA, TF or above.
