Overview
The Tufts University Department of Music serves those students who wish to pursue undergraduate or graduate studies in music and all students seeking to develop their musical knowledge and/or performance skills. The Music department provides students the opportunity for private study of instrumental and/or vocal performance in a broad range of styles including Classical, Jazz, Rock, Klezmer, and the folk and classical traditions of Eastern Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Mediterranean, India, Japan, and Indonesia.
What You'll Do
Reporting to the Coordinator of Applied Music, Private Lesson Instructors in Music teach individualized lessons to students for study of instrumental and/or vocal performance. Instructors are responsible for providing 1 one-hour lesson per student per week for 10 weeks of the semester.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a Bachelor's degree in music performance and 3+ years of experience teaching university students at the highest level.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in music
- DMA
- Recognized performer in the greater Boson area/US with experience guiding university students to graduate programs and performance opportunities
