Graphic Design

Lecturer 12 Months


Graphic Design/Motion Design - to teach undergraduate studio and lecture courses within the professional graphic design and advertising programs with full-time, college-level teaching experience in three or more of the following areas: motion design, immersive design, graphic design, advertising and portfolio development in the field. The candidate will teach at the Union campus and non-teaching hours will be devoted to advising and providing other support services to students, primarily career mentorship. The ideal candidate will contribute intellectually to the formation of these professional programs by developing a research and/or creative scholarship agenda and should have some experience in professional practice, innovative teaching, curriculum development and active engagement in professional organizations.


Qualifications:  Master’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. A proven record of award-winning academic scholarship and/or professional practice experience is preferred. Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree may substitute position related experience for the Master’s degree requirement.


This is a twelve-month, full-time, non-tenure track position effective for the Fall 2023 semester.

Teaching assignments may be assigned at any of Kean’s New Jersey locations - Union, Ocean, Princeton, Skylands or for Kean Online and may include day, evening and weekend courses. The primary location for this position is at the Union campus.  


Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Proficiency in a Learning Management System is required, consistent with University guidelines.
