The Anton Bruckner Private University (ABPU) offers artistic and artistic-pedagogical courses of study in music, acting and dance. In 2004 the university was institutionally accredited as a private university. As a public corporation it is financially supported by the Province of Upper Austria.

University professorship for organ (f/m/d)

  • Employment level: 16 hours of teaching per week (equals 29h/week and 72,73% of full employment)
  • Duration of employment: initially limited to three years; in case of positive evaluation permanent employment
  • Classification: LD 8 of the Upper Austrian Salary Act 2001
  • Remuneration: gross monthly salary from EUR 3.838,18 (depending on previous work experience)
  • Application deadline: 12th Sept 2024
  • Planned start of employment: 1st March 2025
  • Selection procedure:
    • Preselection by appointment committee
    • Hearing incl. teaching sample is expected to take place on 27th & 28th Jan 2025
    • Time to register: 25th & 26th Jan 2025
  • Organizational unit: Institute for Keyboard Instruments (TAS)

Requirements

  • Leading an organ class within an artistic and artistic-pedagogical education in the bachelor and master studies. This includes the core artistic subject, teaching of the relevant supplementary subjects, especially didactics and teaching practice or ensemble work, basso continuo and organ building science.
  • Networking with the Upper Austrian regional music school
  • Promotion of young talents in art and pedagocics
  • Involvement of the Linzer and Upper Austrian organ representatives
  • Teaching at the ABPU and nearby churches

Role & Responsibilities

  • Outstanding artistic and artistic-pedagogical qualification
  • International teaching and concert activity / experience
  • A completed domestic or equivalent foreign university education appropriate to the position or an equivalent artistic or artistic-scientific aptitude
  • Broad artistic spectrum, especially in ensemble and basso continuo
  • Repertoire knowledge of all epochs, including contemporary music
  • Stylistic confidence in historically informed performance practice
  • Cooperativeness and teamwork
  • Regular attendance at the Anton Bruckner Private University
