Expertise: Her research interests include portraits, dress and textiles, especially her 2006 book Byzantine Dress: Representations of Secular Dress in Eighth- to Twelfth-century Painting (Palgrave). She is a frequent lecturer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Cloisters, and has published on textiles and Byzantine-Islamic visual culture.
